2029 ITS WC Taipei

A Global Living Lab for Smart Mobility

Artificial intelligence is transforming transportation faster than ever before. Yet true progress is not defined by technology alone, but by how technology works in harmony with people, cities, and the environment. This is the vision behind Harmonizing an AITS World—an AI-powered Intelligent Transportation System that seamlessly connects intelligence, infrastructure, mobility, and society to create transportation that is safer, more sustainable, resilient, and accessible to all.

ITS World Congress 2029 will be proudly held in Taipei under the theme “Harmonizing an AITS World,” envisioning a future where Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Transport Systems converge to redefine urban mobility. As a leading smart city in Asia, Taipei provides a comprehensive smart mobility ecosystem and real-world innovation environment, positioning itself as a global stage for next-generation transportation transformation.

The Congress is expected to welcome more than 20,000 international participants and over 1,000 organizations from government and industry. Through more than 200 conference sessions and 500 technical demonstrations and visits, it will foster international collaboration and innovation, shaping a more intelligent, safer, and more connected future of mobility.

ITS TAIWAN

ITS Taiwan connects Taiwan’s government, industry, academia, and research communities with international partners to advance Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and promote smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility. Through cross-sector collaboration and the integration of transportation, ICT, engineering, automation, and emerging technologies, ITS Taiwan supports the development and application of innovative mobility solutions in Taiwan and beyond.

With more than two decades of international engagement, ITS Taiwan has participated in the ITS Asia-Pacific Forum since 1999 and the ITS World Congress since 2014. It has hosted and supported major ITS events in Taiwan, including Asia-Pacific Forums in Taipei and Kaohsiung, while establishing bilateral exchanges and long-term partnerships with ITS organizations around the world. From 2015 to 2025, ITS Taiwan signed MOUs with ITS organizations across North America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, strengthening Taiwan’s role within the global ITS community.

This sustained international engagement has also contributed to the global recognition of Taiwan’s ITS achievements, with Taiwan’s industry leaders, government agencies, and professionals receiving multiple ITS World Congress Hall of Fame awards.

Looking ahead, ITS Taiwan will work closely with the Taipei City Government to organize the 2029 ITS World Congress in Taipei, showcasing Taiwan’s achievements in intelligent mobility and presenting a new vision for the future of ITS.
